Back to the Garden Store is rooted in an old idea—one that feels more urgent than ever. Our name is inspired by the lyric from Woodstock, immortalized by Joni Mitchell and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young: “We are stardust, we are golden, and we’ve got to get ourselves back to the garden.” It’s a line that captures both longing and hope—a call to return to what truly grounds us.

That idea reaches even further back, to the Garden of Eden itself. In the earliest account we know before our fall into sin and the first promise of a Savior (Genesis 3:15), humanity lived in harmony with the earth—tending it, learning from it, and thriving because of it. Over time, progress pulled us farther away from that relationship. Convenience replaced connection. Speed replaced stewardship. But the future we believe in doesn’t abandon the past—it reclaims its wisdom.

Everything we offer at Back to the Garden Store is chosen with that belief in mind. Our products are meant to reconnect you with the natural world, whether through gardening, working with your hands, or simply slowing down and engaging with the rhythms of the earth. These are items that invite you outside, remind you where you came from, and help you build a more grounded, intentional life.

Going “back” isn’t about nostalgia—it’s about moving forward with purpose. If the future is going to be better, it has to be more human, more natural, and more connected. We’re here to help you get back to the garden—one thoughtful choice at a time.
